SAD Light Bulbs – Fight Winter Depression
Many people find themselves feeling out of sorts during the winter. They may have symptoms such as lethargy, weight gain, low energy, irritable moods, a tendency to sleep much more and later in the mornings etc. There are many illnesses that can have these sorts of things as symptoms, but Seasonal Affective Disorder is a common one. SAD light bulbs can be an effective way to deal with Seasonal Affective Disorder.
If your doctor diagnoses you with SAD, one solution is to install a SAD light bulb in your home. Consumers can even install several lights in the common areas of their home so that they are exposed to increased light for longer periods. You need 10,000 lux for at least 30 minutes of illumination per day, so grab a few lights.
A SAD light should be installed in the area of your home that you would spend the most time in during the day. In some cases exposure to light from a SAD device for 30 minutes a day will be sufficient for patients to recover their normal state and avoid further complications. SAD lights can be installed in as a lamp bulb and they must be situated so that you receive the most illumination. A 100-watt SAD bulb will provide sufficient illumination from a table lamp that is 15 to 20 inches away. This is a perfect time to sit and read the paper in the morning while enjoying a cup of coffee and receiving the vital light treatment that you need.
