Ocean Optics releases of new tungsten halogen bulbs
Ocean Optics has extended the capabilities of its miniature fiber optic spectrometer into the NIR region with the release of its NIR512 Miniature Fiber Optic Spectrometer. The high-performance, small-footprint NIR512 has a temperature-regulated 512-element InGaAs array detector effective in the 0.9-1.7µm wavelength range – enabling a wide variety near-infrared applications such as moisture analysis, protein/fat content testing, tunable laser wavelength characterization and general NIR spectroscopy. Starting at $15,000, the NIR512 Spectrometer acquires data as fast as 10 µs and provides spectral resolution of <5.0 nm FWHM.
The NIR512 Spectrometer features a diffractive grating-based optical bench that is conveniently housed with a 16-bit USB A/D converter. This integrated design makes the NIR512 a 105 mm x 127 mm x 80 mm small-footprint system and eliminates the need for additional spectrometer-to-A/D converter cabling.
The NIR512 interfaces to a PC via its USB port or communicates with any desktop, notebook or handheld PC that supports the RS-232 protocol. A +5 VDC wall transformer (included) is required to operate the system's high-performance 512-element InGaAs array detector. Connected via the USB port, the NIR512 is hot-swappable. Load OOIBase32 Spectrometer Operating Software onto a PC and connect the NIR512; the software recognizes and reads data programmed on the NIR512 and adjusts its parameters to that specific spectrometer, saving time and reducing configuration errors.
The NIR512 features an SMA 905 connector and is fully compatible with Ocean Optics' line of fiber optic accessories including optical fibers, cuvette holders and probes. Ocean Optics recommends its LS-1 Tungsten Halogen Light Source, a versatile white light source optimized for VIS-NIR applications
(360 nm – 2 µm), for use with the NIR512.
